Training Venue

The St. Johns and Arlington rivers in Jacksonville are an unparalleled training venue. We have access to miles of rowable river and offer a complete infrastructure at our facility.

Water

Our year-round water access enables rowers to practice their skill and precision in a scenic setting with limited boat traffic. From our dock there is nearly 4 km of protected water along the Arlington River which flows into the St. Johns River, providing us with another 16 km of rowable water most days.

Though we rarely row more than 10 miles of the St. Johns River, it flows over 310 miles from its headwaters to the Atlantic Ocean, making it the largest north-flowing river in the United States. The St. Johns drains more than 15% of Florida, with a basin of over 9,000 square miles!

Facility

We have a floating dock, indoor and outdoor boat storage, a training room with 20 ergs, and indoor bathrooms and dressing rooms.

We currently have four still water coaching launches and a fleet offering a variety of shells (6 eights, 4 fours, 4 quads, 12 pair/doubles, 2 doubles and 4 singles). We offer facility (and equipment) rental opportunities for visiting crews seeking to train in Florida.

Contact our Director of Rowing at director@firstcoastrowing.com or (904) 479-6325 for more information on rental fees.
